As a native Iowan, and from his early days as a youth growing up in Eastern Iowa on a Heritage Farm that’s been in his family for 166 years – he remains actively engaged in his family’s 4th generation farming operation, from which he learned the value of relationships, hard work, commitment, resilience, and business acumen. He holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing from Upper Iowa University.
John has earned a track record of delivering business-impacting solutions to clients across an array of industries, whether local to Omaha & Eastern Nebraska, or across the U.S.. As a trusted advisor having contributed through active roles in 20 corporate mergers, acquisitions, integrations & divestures, he’s navigated and ultimately led strategic engagements with a diversity of enterprise, medium & small businesses including though not limited to emerging technology, banking & financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, insurance, retail, transportation, and consumer goods.
John’s years of diverse consultative experience include a trifecta of contributions, instrumental roles & career successes in sales, business development, management & operations – initiating his career first in retail, and quickly evolving to progressive roles with the Adolph Coors Company, Kraft Foods, InaCom, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Dell, Ivanti, and Thales.
Relentless in his commitment to ensuring the success of his clients, John learned early in his career the value of building relationships, providing expertise, earning trust, and through a consultative approach, the importance of helping clients pause to realize and weigh both the pros & cons of and additionally the impact of & potential barriers to, the business achieving the desired business outcomes.
Outside his professional life, John enjoys spending time and making daily memories with his wife Cindy of 38 years, who together have called West Omaha their home for nearly as long. It’s where they raised their two (now grown) children, and from which they find every opportunity to spend time with their grandsons. He additionally enjoys landscaping, working outdoors, cars, cooking, volunteers as a mentor in the Elkhorn Public Schools, and as an accomplished vocalist & musician, enjoys contributing to the worship experience at his church for the past 29 years as a soloist, and with the contemporary worship team.
